JT Team (16-23)

Experience. Judgement. Opportunity.

JT Team gives students the opportunity to experience financial markets, develop investment judgement and gain practical skills for university, apprenticeships and future careers.

Working in teams of up to three, students take on a real-world investment challenge, researching food, fashion and online retailers during the important Christmas trading period.

The programme begins with introductory learning resources, Jargon Busters and a demonstration of the Challenge, preparing students to make their investment decisions on Dealing Day, 17 December 2026.

Portfolios are automatically liquidated on 11 January 2027, followed by a short written report evaluating investment decisions and performance. Results are announced on 1 March 2027.

Teams are assessed on investment performance (50%) and their written evaluation (50%), with Pass, Merit and Distinction awards. The Challenge can also contribute towards the Skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

More than a competition, JT Team develops financial literacy, analytical thinking, teamwork and decision-making, giving students valuable experience to discuss in interviews and include in UCAS applications and CVs.
