Your journey starts here

Congratulations on joining Junior Trader Plus.

Over the coming weeks and months, you will develop the analytical, research and communication skills used by investors, analysts and financial professionals. The programme is designed to strengthen your decision making, deepen your understanding of capital markets and help you build evidence of your interest in finance, business and investment.

Your progress will be assessed through a combination of quizzes, written assignments and personalised feedback.

Stage 1: Orientation

Your first task is to submit a personal statement of 150–200 words within three days of enrolment.

This should be similar to the summary section of a CV, LinkedIn profile or university application. Please tell us:

  • About yourself and your background
  • Your school, college or university subjects
  • What sparked your interest in financial markets
  • What you hope to gain from Junior Trader Plus

This exercise helps us understand your starting point and allows us to provide more personalised feedback throughout the programme.

Please email your personal statement to info@junior-trader.org within three days of enrolment.

Subject line:
JT+ Personal Statement – [Your Full Name]

This exercise forms the first stage of the programme and enables us to tailor future feedback to your individual interests, experience and objectives.

Stage 2: Market Language

Every profession has its own language and finance is no different.

View our CISI Jargon Buster and complete a short open-book terminology assessment designed to build confidence with the language of investing and capital markets.

Your completion time and score will be recorded.

Stage 5: Reflective Learning Log/ Re-visit personal statement

Throughout the programme, keep a personal learning log recording your thoughts, key lessons and how your understanding develops. This will help you articulate your experience during university, internship and graduate interviews

Junior Trader Plus – Reflective Learning Log

At the beginning of Junior Trader+, you wrote a short personal statement explaining your interest in finance, investment and the programme.

Now return to it.

Your final task is to rewrite that statement in light of what you have learned and experienced.

Stage 6: Personalised Feedback & Certification

Submit your completed assignments for assessment and receive detailed personalised feedback. You’ll then have a one-to-one online review to discuss your work, explore your progress and receive practical advice on strengthening your future applications and interview performance.
